What is Proofreading?
The final polish! A safety net to catch the odd mistake that’s slipped through. (They’re always there, aren’t they? Curse them…) It’s a much lighter service than copy-editing, usually only involving the first four items listed above. A document that’s ready for proofreading will be of a high standard and will almost certainly have been copy-edited. If I think your document needs a tad more work before it would benefit from being proofread, I’ll tip you the wink.

Nikki Brice of Splendid Stories is reliable, conscientious and eagle-eyed. She is rapidly becoming one of my go-to proofreaders of choice. Nikki takes a very detailed approach to her work which is exactly what’s required in a proofreader and nothing much passes her by. She fully understands the importance of a consistent approach and her fact-checking is second to none. Where there is any question or ambiguity she will flag it up so nothing is left to chance. I heartily recommend her services.
